It would be the nth time I visited Bangkok and with the huge number of hotels in the city, and more sprouting like mushrooms, it will take a lifetime for me to be able to try each of them.
The trick would be to search for my niche hotel. It should be able to cater to what fits me best—close to the BTS station for mobility, closer to the shopping destinations for retail therapy and affordable according to my lifestyle. So, I turn to Agoda, my travel bible, where I input my preferences and voila, the best-fitted options pop up. I call it my personal travel secretary on-line, sort of like Siri on your IPhone.
But I always take the recommendations of the locals, which is always anyone’s best bet if you ask me, and I was told to check out the newest baby of the Pullman chain of hotels- Hotel G. And Hotel G, it will be.

I arrived in Bangkok at midnight and after a quick ride, I was at the hotel located at the heart of Silom, my favorite address. My navigator immediately pointed out the nearest BTS, the Chong Nonsi station, a short walk. Good.
