When in Mati… Do & Stay

DO: Fly the ultralight plane

Must do & must stay in Mati City
Take the 15-minute ultralight plane ride of lifetime & map out your Mati itinerary from the sky.

When in Mati, before you hit Dahican’s surf do check the waters—from above ground. There’s no better way to do that than taking a ride on an ultralight plane.

Before your beach frolic, do check out Dahican waters—from above ground.

The light plane aerial tour of Mati City by Mindanao Saga Flying Club (MSFC) must be topping the list of must do in Mati. Well, I’m not surprised after I was taken for a ride in one.

The 15-minute trip gives you an aerial view of Mati’s must-visit spots plus more—the Dahican Cove, Pujada Bay, the Mangrove Forest, Subangan Museum, the coconut and mango plantation, and on a clear day, a fantastic view of the surrounding mountain range including Mt. Hamiguitan.

Verdant Mati.

Best time to fly is from 6-8AM and 4-6PM when it’s not too windy. I’ve tried the morning ride but Iñaki Sievert, the club’s president who piloted my first ride, said that a sunset ride is magical. That gives me a very good reason to hit the Mati skies on the next trip.

Dahican Cove resort is a few minutes walk away from the busy beach area & offers the privacy you may seek

Away from the Dahican beach stretch’s busy section, but a short walk away, is a tranquil spot to spend a night or two—the Dahican Cove resort. It’s one of the best beachfront resorts in Mati that serves in bed a view of the picturesque coast and the sunrise framed by a picture window. How’s that for a morning greeting?
