Bangkok’s iconic lotus

There’s an impressive lotus inspired structure jutting out of the city skyline and it’s Bangkok’s newest towering icon- the Grand Centara and Bangkok Convention Centre at CentralWorld. This stunning landmark integrates a Five Star Hotel, a state-of-the-art convention center and world-class shopping and entertainment facilities in a single stop at the heart of the city’s business district.

The complex is only 30 minutes from the Suvarnabhumi airport and its central location in the metropolis has access to the BTS Skytrain that links to the subway making the rest of Bangkok’s tourist attractions within easy reach.

Built for conventions of any size, the Bangkok Convention Centre can host conferences, events, shows or exhibitions and seat 10 to 6,000 people.

If this isn’t impressive enough, the convention center is incorporated to a world-class shopping mall— CentralWorld. Holding hundreds of outlets for retail and dining and more than a dozen movie theaters as well makes this entertainment paradise the largest shopping mall in Thailand.

What I found most exciting about the entire modern edifice is the iconic lotus that hovers over the bustling business and shopping landscape of the city. Ensconced within the flower tower is a Five Star luxury hotel – the Centara Grand Hotel. It is “simply Thai but absolutely different,” which means the hotel provides a fresh perspective on Thai hospitality and service.

Centara Grand features 505 luxurious rooms and suites, an exclusive nine executive club floors with a club lounge open for 24 hours with a wide range of complimentary services for its members,
